A fixture of the Civil War Discovery Trail, the Bell Boyd House was the girl-hood home of Boyd, a Confederate spy who would go on to become a famous actress of the stage. Today, the brick building houses a museum dedicated to the impact of the War on the Lower Shenandoah Valley; a lovely herb garden and rose garden each lie on the premises as well. The House lies in the heart of town, just south of Oatesdale Park.
